The Army Angling Federation is the Governing Body for the sport of Angling in the Army, comprising Game Coarse and Sea Angling disciplines.  It is affiliated to the Angling Trust, the National Governing Body for the sport in England. The Army Angling Federation seeks to promote and grow participation in competitive angling in the Army, providing opportunity for soldiers to develop within the sport, from grass routes through to performance, through the delivery of competitions and leagues to support the selection of representative team at Unit, Corps, Army and UKAF level.  Over the past 10 years the Army has also had a number of individuals selected to represent at International level at World and European Championships as well as holding Senior Management and Board level appointments on National Governing Bodies.

More information about the individual disciplines can be found by clicking the relevant links in the side navigation bar and details of competitions/matches can be found in the Fixtures section.

Membership of the Army Angling Federation is controlled by each discipline and is open to all serving and ex regular members of the Army, Regular and Reserve, dependants and MOD Civilians.

Membership of the Federation is divided into 2 categories:

Full Members

All serving ranks of the Regular Army, Army Reserve and those on FTRS terms of service.

Associate Membership

  • Dependants of serving members of the Regular Army.
  • Ex-serving members of the Army, Army Reserve and those on FTRS.
  • MOD (A) civilian staff.

Associate membership is limited up to a maximum of one third of the total membership. The number is limited so as to preserve the charitable status of the Federation. The Federation through our Chairman reserves the right to authorise or decline associate membership, each application will be looked at individually.

Benefits and Subscriptions:

The annual subscription for membership is controlled and set by each discipline  and runs from 1st January to 31st December; the cost of subscription is reviewed annually by each discipline Executive Committee.

The benefits of Army Angling Federation Membership vary slightly from discipline to discipline but general:
